Some Quotes from Sri Satya Sai Baba:
If there is righteousness in the heart, there will be beauty in character;
if there is beauty in character, there will be harmony in the home;
if there is harmony in the home, there will be order in the nation;
when there is order in the nation, there will be peace in the world.
God dwells in you as Joy. That is why you seek Joy always in every object around you. To become full of Joy as Radha or Ramakrishna or Vivekananda, you have to sacrifice your ego, and saturate yourself with the Lord, with the consciousness that the Lord is your being. So long as you have a trace of ego in you, you cannot see the Lord clearly. Egoism will be destroyed if you constantly tell yourself, It is He, not I. He is the force, I am but the instrument. Keep His Name always on the tongue. Contemplate His glory whenever you see anything beautiful or grand; see in everyone the Lord, Himself, moving in that form.
Youth is very sacred. Do not misuse it by indulging in limitless desires and building castles in the air. Pursue your education keeping God uppermost in your mind. Do not get entangled in unnecessary activities and bondage, which will cause restlessness. Today people are in search of peace. But peace cannot be found in the external world. You will find only pieces! Peace is in you. You are the embodiment of peace; you are the embodiment of truth; and you are the embodiment of love. So first of all, know thyself. Only then can you be blissful always.
Spirituality
Some quotes from Swamini Turiyasangitananda
In these kinds of times we live in now, with war, floods and fires, it is not unusual because they have been occurring throughout the ages. However, they are occurring now very evidently for us where we see and experience the pain and horror and suffering. . . for a good reason. There is always the polarity: the right side, the left side; the day side, the night side. We on one side see suffering and pain, but on the other side we see giving, we see kindness, we see sympathy. We see a humanity opening its heart, its spirit, and reaching out to those who are in pain. So what is happening now? We have to look at the total picture. The Lord wants us to be sympathetic, charitable, helpful and forgiving because, as was stated, mankind has to experience the truth of its humanity.
Keep your faith strong in the Lord. If your prayers are sincere, God hears and accepts your prayer. The divine flame of truth that the Lord was teaching 5000 years ago is still burning brightly. It is pure. It cannot fade and it cannot become dim. It is shining like a great sun in the firmament. There is no maya covering the purity, the truth. What comes from one who attains this light? Who is dwelling in this light? Sukha, happiness; it exists in God. It comes from God. Happiness and the knowledge of attaining God's truth are as wonderful as God giving us truths of life and the holy scriptures.
Divine Music in Life
Divine music is one of the highest mercies extended to us by God. It is as powerful as prayer itself. The potency of sacred music has in certain instances superceded the curative properties of medicine, mantra, and affirmations. This is due to the heart's principle of love, purity, and innate receptivity. Often, the mind that knows the use of recitation and affirmations, at times has found that little value results when it exhaustedly abandons the constant repetition.
Divine music is a curative virtue; it is a gift from God that brings healing and comfort to the soul. This music can uplift one's spirit up to a higher dimension of being that is filled with peace and joy. Divine music is the sound of true life, wisdom, and bliss. This music transcends geographical boundaries, language barriers, age factors; and whether educated or uneducated, it reaches deep into the heart and soul, sacred and holy, like an Infinite sound of glory entering the Lord's sanctuary.
"Asathoma Sat Gamaye" Prayer
When offering this universal, ancient, Sanskrit prayer, it affirms a testimony to the truth of our life on earth. It states:
Asatho ma sat gamaye (Lead us from untruth to truth)
Tamaso ma jyotir gamaye (Lead us from nescience to light)
Mrityor ma amritam gamaye (Lead us from death to immortality)
O God, let humanity dwell in truth, in divine light, and in the blessedness of immortality. Allow mankind to ultimately receive the lasting peace and happiness its soul longs to obtain. I pray that all people will live in harmony with all beings in a world without war and strife, respecting others' cultures and traditions, and valuing the importance of preserving and protecting our earth with its natural resources and environment. What a glorious day it will be when divine co-existence will be the idyllic, spiritual way of life throughout the world.
These wonderful truths, these spiritual precepts and values take us onto the path of righteousness that leads to the holiness of everlasting life in God.
